A New Englander and a West Virginian walk into each other's lives
Jesse, a New England transplant who will hike to any body of water and talk about food the whole way there. Carlos, a West Virginia native who can walk for miles and still has the energy to argue about which horror movie is the best one. It worked immediately.

The first time Jesse drove down to West Virginia, Carlos played tour guide, and saved the best for the Endless Wall Trail at New River Gorge. If you've been, you know: cliff edges, long views, and plenty of time to find out whether the other person is worth keeping pace with. He was.

2025 · THE PROPOSAL · SAME TRAIL
Back to the Endless Wall, this time with a ring
Two years later, Carlos surprised Jesse with a cabin trip back to the New River Gorge. Surprise number two came on the same hike where it all started: Carlos asked a better question, and Jesse said yes to that too. The dogs were not consulted but have since approved.
